Holders of current floating license holders can be checked directly from VPI with FLEXnet License Server Administration. Details of how to do this are shown below. If you need to negotiate use of a floating license please use this method to check who currently hold the licenses and email those users directly rather than using a group email to this mail-list. Regards, Paul Checking on VPI floating license usage: This is available already for anyone that has had VPI installed for a floating license, not that elegant to do but it works. >From the VPI folder on your PC -> Administration -> FLEXnet License Server Administration Click on the 'Server Status' tab at the top. Click 'Perform Status Enquiry' You will get a list of current usage, not the easiest of interfaces to use (can be easier to copy it to notepad or similar) but it does show near the top who is using VPI_TMM_BASE which I guess the main license concerned. So e.g.: -------- Status -------- Flexible License Manager status on Tue 7/9/2013 11:54 [Detecting lmgrd processes...] License server status: 27000 at eas-vpi-l4-01 License file(s) on eas-vpi-l4-01: C:\Program Files (x86)\VPI\VPIlicenseServer 3.3\license\vpi.lic: eas-vpi-l4-01: license server UP (MASTER) v11.6 Vendor daemon status (on eas-vpi-l4-01): bned: UP v11.6 Feature usage info: Users of VPI_TMM_PLAYER: (Total of 4 licenses issued; Total of 0 licenses in use) Users of VPI_TMM_BASE: (Total of 4 licenses issued; Total of 3 licenses in use) "VPI_TMM_BASE" v9.0, vendor: bned floating license fabbris EASEE13071DW EASEE13071DW (v9.0) (eas-vpi-l4-01/27000 734), start Tue 7/9 11:41 let1 EASEE13105DW EASEE13105DW (v9.0) (eas-vpi-l4-01/27000 2401), start Tue 7/9 9:08 mccarthm EASEE13285DW EASEE13285DW (v9.0) (eas-vpi-l4-01/27000 234), start Tue 7/9 9:22 If someone has a node-locked license then the above program should display just their details as the license server is their own PC, it might be possible to temporarily put in the details of the main floating server eas-vpi-l4-01 but it is not something I have tried. Can you please let me know if will be suitable as anything else license control wise would probably need to be done via an administrative account on the license server which would be difficult.
